SFB 1054 Gender Symposium 2015

27.11.2015

Gender Symposium 2015

A scientific symposium took place in November 2015, where top-class female scientists from Germany and abroad presented their work and participated in a round-table discussion with CRC members on career and gender issues.

Gender Symposium 2015

For this symposium, which was financed by the german research Foundation gender equality funds, we invited six accomplished female immunologists, who are leading researchers in this field. Our aim was to encourage our female Phd students and postdocs to further pursue a scientific career and to increase the number of women in leading positions in immunology. Universities and other research institutions face the challenge to attract and retain more women in science. Recent studies identify measures, which may help to achieve this goal. The speakers shared their own experiences and discussed these issues with SFB members.
