Mini-Symposium on Single-Cell Genomics in Immunology

13.11.2018

On November 13th, 2018, over 160 people convened in the Johannes B. Ortner Forum of the TranslaTUM to here about the latest trends in Single-Cell Genomics. The Mini-Symposium was organized by the Munich-based Collaborative Research Center SFB 1054 „Control and Plasticity of Cell-Fate Decisions in the Immune System“. It featured an overview of state-of-the-art single-cell technologies and their application and benefits for immunology-related research.

Excellent talks were given, ranging from a lectures about the state-of-the-art single-cell technologies presented by Wolfgang Enard (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany), over the bioinformatical handling of the data presented by Fabian Theis (Helmholtz Zentrum München/TUM, Germany), up to special applications of single-cell sequencing within field of immunology research presented by Roser Vento (Wellcome Sanger Institute, Hinxton/Cambridge, UK), Massimiliano Pagani (Istituto Nazionale Genetica Molecolare, Milan, Italy) and Joachim Schultze (University of Bonn, Germany).

The day ended with a Single-cell panel discussion (Q&A) with much discussion among the guests and the speakers, exchanging ideas and research findings.
